SPECTACULAR BEACHES OF GOA, YOU’D WISH TO LIVE FOREVER
If you have ever been or seen pictures of India you should forget a little about them. The south of the country does not look like anything. Goa, one of the southern states, brings me very, very good memories because of the impact caused by the difference with the north and by its beauty by the sea. Traveling to Goa is traveling to an area of unforgettable beaches. But what are the best beaches in Goa? There are many and each one adapts to a different traveler.
It is the smallest state of India in terms of area and population. It is located on the west coast of India about 400 kilometers south of Bombay. The state is divided into 2 districts Goa del Norte and Goa del Sur. Each of them in subdivisions and you can count on the best beaches in Goa. The churches and convents of Goa have been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986.
Goa, located in a tropical zone near the Arabian Sea, has a temperate and humid climate most of the year. The temperature to reach 35 degrees in summer accompanied by a high degree of humidity. The best beaches in Goa have been selected for several reasons: for their parties, for their tranquility or for their curiosities. But they all have something in common … they are spectacular!
It says that Vagator Beaches of the best beach in Goa, and although we can not say it 100%, what is sure is the biggest of them all. It is formed by, nothing less than, three beaches are linked together.
The largest of them is usually filled with travelers and tourists during the day. The next in size, ( Ozran), is a strip of volcanic sand that is between rocky cliffs and is practically inaccessible, so it is a very quiet place.
And the last one is little Vagator, which is famous for having a sculpture of Shiva’s face that appears on one of its rocks, which tourists always go to her to photograph.
Until a few years ago there were no roads that could reach this place. Today we do have them and now Arambol has become one of the paradises of the neo-hippies. This culture has been established in Arambol, giving a traveling and free feeling.
At night, the travelers gather at the beach and dance to the rhythm of the drums until late hours.
Another well-known beach and considered one of Goa’s best beaches is Ashvem Beach. Of calm and transparent, with large tracts of desert sand. Here, there are usually not many people, although it is not difficult to get to Ashvem. The road ends at the beach itself. Another of the most recommended beaches that we can not miss.
Anjuna is a place to party in South India. This is another of the best beaches in Goa with several clubs, international artists, and activities. In Anjuna, we will notice an atmosphere between hippies and Ibiza. Among its shows, we have the Sunburn festival, which is celebrated on Christmas dates flooding with electronic rhythms the area of Anjuna and Vagator.
The only bad thing that during that time the prices go up a lot. But of course, this is one of the best beaches in Goa. Goa has so many beaches that if you are going quiet or walking, there is a place for you.
Bogmalo and the Cape of Rama
Another of the best beaches to visit in Goa is the beach of Bogmalo, considered the longest in Goa. About 25 kilometers long. It seems to have no end.
When the tide comes down the sand is hard and it is the perfect place if you want to travel by bicycle. Bicycles are rented in many places in the vicinity, although you have to be careful that the tide does not rise quickly.
Without a doubt, it is one of the ideals for walking and photography, for its great beauty.
Another highly recommended is the beach of Cola, a beach for those who seek tranquility. It is located in the south of Goa. It is a less crowded place and with a tourism that is calmer, quieter. It is just minutes from another of Goa’s best beaches like the popular Agonda. Hidden among palm trees is this long beach. It is not very easy to find since it is little known, so the last two kilometers are made by an unpaved road.
This relative isolation makes it a paradise for those who seek tranquility and escape from mass tourism. This beach has some cabins that can be rented and spend the night there. For all the tranquility is rated as one of the best and quietest.
Also called Galgibada, this is the most popular beach on the southern tip of Goa, it is safe from mass tourism. This is due to a great environmental protection, where the turtles’ nests are.
If we are going to travel between October and March, we will have the opportunity to see the nests and even see the turtles come out of their eggs. Contemplate going to the sea to swim for the first time that is priceless.
The few establishments that can be found on this beach offer fish and seafood menus at a great price. If we have the opportunity we should go to this beach. Remember if the visits have to be very considerate of the environment and respect the environment.
It is a good beach to go to sunbathe, relax or swim. Although we can not say that its beaches are ideal for swimming because we have in Goa other beaches with calmer waters is a place that we should consider it as an alternative.
The beach of Agonda is famous for being the nesting place for the Ridley turtles. These animals are in danger of extinction so it is requested to keep the noise level low as well as the lighting to give them the opportunity to nest.
There is the possibility of being able to take a boat trip since fishermen offer this service to tourists who go there. You must bargain and make sure that we pay just enough for the service. In this area it is very easy to see dolphins, even from the beach we can see them but if we have the opportunity to go in a boat the sighting will be much better.
