FORD’S ECOBOOST V6 TO COME UP WITH 315 HORSES
From the moment of the arrival of its first generation in 2006, the Ford Edge became one of the most popular medium SUVs in the United States. Its second generation was introduced towards the middle of last year, but Ford had not divulged the technical characteristics of its most powerful version. This is the Ford Edge Sport, a version equipped with a 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 bi-turbo engine that produces 315 horsepower and 474 Nm of torque, available from 2,750 rpm.
This propeller comes as a substitute for the previous 3.7-liter V6, which exceeds in all aspects. The engine is associated with a six-speed SelectShift automatic transmission and has a declared fuel consumption of 13 l / 100 km in the city, 8.7 l / 100 km on the highway and 11.2 l / 100 km in the combined cycle. On the other hand,
The rear shock absorbers are larger in diameter, while the coils are 10 percent stiffer, offering 20 percent less body roll than in the previous generation.
These modifications provide an improved dynamic behavior. Aesthetically, the Edge Sport has 20-inch alloy wheels and 21-inch optionally. The vehicle is equipped with active noise cancellation technology to manage and improve the sound of the 2.7-liter EcoBoost engine. The system uses microphones placed throughout the cabin by virtue of being able to generate opposite sound waves, which are directed through the audio system to theoretically improve the ambient sound.
