ALIEN YOGA: NEW WAY TO GET IN SHAPE EASILY
It’s the latest trend in fitness to be in shape and that is one of the most striking trends that we currently find on social networks. We talk about yoga , a peculiar exercise related to classical yoga that focuses on the abdominal area.
What is yoga alien?
The yoga alien derived from Hipopresiva gymnastics and is completely exhaling, contracting the muscles of the abdominal area while performing a small rolling forth. With this we create an image similar to the famous scene from the movie “Alien”; hence its name. Only yogis with some experience can carry out this radical movement, since it requires great strength and control of the musculature.
Although it has become a popular trend among celebrities and influencers, its appearance dates back nearly 500 years. Under the denomination of Nauli , it is considered as one of the first exercises that traditional yoga students learned.
The yoga alien provides some positive effects on our health, provided it is carried out under the guidance of a qualified instructor; Otherwise, we could be injured. Practiced correctly helps us improve digestion, strengthen the abdomen, tone the liver and pancreas, correct hormonal imbalances, strengthen the pelvic floor and, in general, optimize our physical condition.
However, it is unadvisable for people with cardiovascular diseases, hernias, ulcers, gastrointestinal problems, high blood pressure, and of course, in case of pregnancy.
Yoga Alien and Uddiyana Bandha
Before starting in the alien yoga, we must master the Uddiyana Bandha. It consists of standing, with the feet separated and the hands resting on the thighs, slightly curving the back. We inhale and exhale deeply, taking all the air out of the lungs and contracting the abdominals in turn. Later we will practice the contraction on each side separately, which is called Nauli Kriya, retaining this position as long as possible, always without air in the lungs. Afterwards, we inhale slowly. Once we master these movements, we can start with the yoga alien.
How yoga is performed alien
For its correct execution, we must exhale completely the air from our lungs and follow four muscular actions. First, we flexed the abdomen inward and upward, marking the ribs. Next, we only contract the central abdominals, focusing first on one side and then on the other. The final step is to perform horizontal movements from right to left or vice versa.
